В этом году в конкурсе приняли участие рекордные 57 489 фотографов из 135 стран.

Третье место. “Down at the mud puddles on our road, we found several young bullfrogs hopping around. Up on our hilltop, wet spots are few and far between, so our mud puddles are home to a constant flow of tadpoles, frogs and toads. Жюри определило победителей и призеров на фотоконкурсе всемирной некоммерческой организации The Nature Conservancy. На конкурс в этом году из 135 стран были получены рекордные 57 489 заявок. Фотографы должны были представить свои лучшие работы в пяти различных категориях: "Пейзаж", "Вода", "Люди и природа", "Дикая природа", "Города и природа".

Главный приз достался француженке Камилле Бриотте за ее потрясающий образ двух жеребцов, резвящихся на заливных лугах Камарга. Снимок подчеркивает радость и красоту этих животных, играющих на воле. С ними контрастирует кадр американского фотограф Андре Мерсье, занявший второе место. Зловещий образ тающей льдины, которая некогда была частью большого ледника, является потрясающим напоминанием о том, что человечество проигрывает борьбу за сохранение природы в первозданном виде.

"Качество фотографий в этом году потрясающее. Было очень сложно выбрать победителя", - сказал Билл Марр, директор по фотографии The Nature Conservancy и один из судей конкурса. "Фотоконкурс TNC - прекрасное место встречи для тех, кто любит природу и тех, кто любит фотографию. У нас есть замечательные снимки со всего мира, от величественных пейзажей Дикого запада до белок на заднем дворе в Австрии. Фотография - общий язык для всех ".

Ранее в Раде зарегистрированы законопроекты, направленные на борьбу с мусором и охрану окружающей среды.
